I had my little cup of coffee on the plane, and I swear nothing beats sipping it while watching the Himalayas roll by under the morning sun. The clouds sat low, like a fluffy white blanket, and the mountains just towered above them. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to take a hundred photos or just put my phone down and soak it all in. In the end, I did both and still wished the flight lasted longer haha!

Sometimes the plane went through light clouds, and peaks would suddenly pop out, like nature’s own little surprise. I was too stunned to speak honestly. Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse seemed to appear out of nowhere. It felt magical, almost like the mountains were putting on a show just for us. I kept smiling the whole flight. My husband was even happier!

Seeing Everest from the air is one of those things you never forget. I was grinning the whole flight and kept thinking, “Yep, this is happening!” This was my first experience of taking a mountain flight from where I could just experience world’s greatest peaks at once. Even talking about it now gives me chills.

When Everest finally came into view, I couldn’t stop staring. Even from the plane, it looks impossibly huge. You know it’s tall, but seeing it in real life well, from the sky gives you a whole new perspective. Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam were lined up around it, and the way the sunlight reflected off the snow was breathtaking. I kept trying to take photos, but honestly, nothing really captures it like your own eyes. A must experience thing!

The flight started early in the morning, and as soon as we took off, the view of Kathmandu Valley was stunning. Tiny towns and green fields stretched out below and it honestly felt like being on top of the world already. I kept leaning against the window, pointing out every little village I could see. The sun hitting the mountains in the distance made everything glow, and I couldn’t stop thinking about how lucky I was to be up there.

The flight is only about 50 minutes to an hour, but it feels much longer because your eyes are glued to the windows the whole time. Every minute there’s something new, a peak you didn’t notice before, a glacier sparkling in the sun, or clouds drifting below the mountains. It’s short but intense. It was a jaw dropping moment.

I thought Everest would be the star of the show, but Ama Dablam completely stole my heart. From the air, it’s this sharp, dramatic peak that looks like something out of a fantasy movie. The way the sunlight hit it, I found myself pointing it out to the person next to me like I was giving them a personal tour, even though they probably knew exactly what it was. I think at one moment he was sick of me pointing at him, literally haha!

FAQs for Everest Mountain Flight

Everest Mountain Flight Information

Best Season

The best time to take the Everest Mountain Flight is during the autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) seasons. During these months, the weather in the Everest region is usually clear and stable. You can get the best visibility of the Himalayan peaks. The skies are less cloudy, ensuring you can enjoy the mountain’s views without any obstruction.

In the autumn months, the weather is stable and the air crisp, making it best for mountain flight in Everest. Both seasons are ideal for the mountains in Nepal, and peak seasons for adventure travel. However, avoiding the monsoon months of June to August is essential, as heavy rains can cause clouds and fog, making it difficult to see the mountains clearly during the flight.
