Overview

Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the oldest tracking trails that provides you with an opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape of the whole Solukhumbu region, stunning views of Himalayas, green jungle, and lush valleys of the area. This 24-day long trekking trip offers you panoramic views of Himalayas including Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt Pumori, Mt Thamserku, etc and Explore the typical culture of Sherpa people with their age-old their trading lifestyle. Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek begins with a road journey from Kathmandu to Jiri. Jiri is approximately 120 km far From Kathmandu. This trekking trail passes through the Solukhumbu and Gokyo regions following the path of the medieval trans-Himalayan trade route. Everest Base Camp is 175 kilometres from Jiri via Namche bazaar. The trekking route is filled with one of the most magnificent mountain scenery, famous Buddhist monasteries, lush valleys rivers flowing effortlessly from the mountain ridges feed by the mother glaciers the Essence of heaven on mother Earth. As the trekking begins from the comparatively low lands than other treks in the region it provides you a good chance of acclimatization and exploration through the villages and glaciers in the Khumbu region. This trek takes you to the neck of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, up to the base camp at (5,357m). from the sea level.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Drive from Kathmandu(1400m) to Bhandara(2200m)

Himalayan 360 team will meet you and Today, your journey will begin in the morning for Bhandara through a public bus/private. You can spot beautiful Mt. Langtang, Mt. Lirung, Mt. Ganesh and the Koshi river. Then you will reach Jiri. Crossing through the different villages like Sangbadana, Kosaribas, Bhanjyang takes you to Bhandara. You can also view and relish the different scenes of mountains, and villages while travelling on the bus.

Day 2:
Bhandara(2200m) to Sete(2520m)

Today your trail goes down to Likhu Khola which is really easy. You cross the bridge and the winding paths from where you reach the small village of Kinja. From there your way is a steep climb until you reach Sete. You can view amazing landscapes surrounded on all sides. You can also have the opportunity to visit old Gompas there. On this day you will have to walk a lot of trails but your struggle will not go waste as the view of the Himalayas will comfort you.

Day 3:
Sete(2520m) to Junbesi(2700m)

On this day you will trek to Junbesi via Lamjura Pass() which is above sea level. You will pass through small farmhouses and teahouses. You will then follow the beautiful rhododendron forests and some monasteries. Then you will cross the highest point till Namche Bazaar. You again descend until you reach Tragdobuk. From where you turned to the north side of the valley and reached Junbesi.

Day 4:
Junbesi(2700m) to Nunthala(2330m) via Taksindu-la(3071m)

Today after having breakfast you will trek to Nunthala through Takshindu-la. At the first hours of your trek, Everest starts to appear on the skyline. You cross a hospital and a landing strip at Phaplu which is followed by a market at Salleri. You will then descend towards the RingmoKhola, you start to make your way to the village Ringmo. The trail between Ringmo and Namche Bazaar is the steeper climb of the old route. After crossing the Trakshindo pass, your trail descends to Nunthala.

Day 5:
Nunthala(2330m) to Bupsa(2040m)

Today this day is the shortest day on the trail to EBC starts in Cheplung. Ok, now from Nunthala you descend to the DudhKoshi River which is also called Milk River because of its cloudy color due to lots of sediments. Walking almost for 4 hours leads you to the colourful village named Khari Khola. You can locate the rice terraces over there. Almost walking for 1 to 2 hours leads you to Bupsa which is the last part of the trail and is also so steep.

Day 6:
Bupsa(2040m) to Chauri kharka(2730m) Via Kare-la Pass(3145m)

Duration of time:6-7 hours

After having savory breakfast in the morning, you will start your trek to Chauri Kharka through Kare-La Pass. You will ascend through a hill and again a ridge then you will leave the valley behind. You will then reach Paiya(2730m). Then you will continue your walk to Kare-La pass. You will cross the gorge then you further start to ascend to the village of Chaurikharka. From there you will head towards Paiya.

Day 7:
Chauri Kharka(2730m) to Banker(2630m)

Through chaurikharka your trail joins lukla which makes a busy path. After trekking a few hours you will reach Pakhding village which is very attractive. Through the Dudh Koshi river along with pine forests, you will continue your trek. You will cross the 5 suspension bridges on your way to Banker. You can also see Buddhist monasteries and Gumbas. Then you will reach the fascinating village Banker.

Day 8:
Banker(2630m) to Namche Bazar(3440m)

After having breakfast early in the morning you will start your today’s trekking to Namche Bazaar. You will cross the 5 suspension bridges on your approach to Namche. As soon as you pass the last bridge, you will continue a 2 hours climb. On your way, you will relish a fascinating view of Mt Everest. At the entrance, you need to authenticate your permit checkpoint. After climbing 15-20 minutes you will reach Jorsalle which is the last place before Namche. Here you will have your lunch. Then continuing the ascend you can see influencing the impression of Everest and Nuptse. A climb through pine forests for 2 to 3 hours depending on your speed leads to the auspicious trading and managerial town of the Namche Bazaar.

Day 9:
Acclimatization at Namche(3440m)

Today you will go on a climb around Namche. Right after that, you will visit the Hillary museum. On the trek, you will be seeing the mesmerizing view of the Everest range which is considered as one of the most amazing viewpoints of the world. After thirty minutes, you will be proceeding with your trip to Syangboche Everest(3780m) see lodging where you will appreciate the awesome mountain views. You will be welcomed by wide views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and different mountains on a day. You will appreciate visiting the Syangboche landing strip(3780m) from where you will move towards Khunde(3840m) passing stone Buddhist Monuments. Furthermore, you can likewise visit the Hillary school and hospital which was made by New Zealand Edmund Hillary. After finishing your lunch program at Khumjung, you will gradually move to Climb Everest View Hotel from where you can appreciate an intriguing view on numerous mountains. At that point, you can appreciate it and go down to Namche.

Day 10:
Namche(3440m) to Porsche Village(3810m)

Today is a really beautiful day during the entire trek. That beautiful trail carries on to Kyanjuma Village. A few climbs to the cliff top of Namche will allow you a fascinating view of Everest and Lhotse. From there you will continue your trail which moves towards Dudhkoshi. After we arrive at the crossroad above there, the way is divided into two parts i.e upward trail and download trail. The upward trail is the way to Mon la pass and the downward trail is the way to Everest Base Camp. But you will choose the way to reach Porsche. You will visit the local powerhouses, old monasteries and cultures of the people over there. Then relishing and walking for some time takes you to Porsche village.

Day 11:
Porsche(3810m) to Dingboche(4410m)

Today you will go up the route to Everest Base Camp which is from Porsche to Dingboche which is a long day and altitude gain of 730 metres. You will walk up through the “Resort” of Porsche, a confined trail between the familiar dry stone walls. The quite interesting thing here is that when the sun comes out it is really impressive. It is really hard not to smile after seeing that. Your brain will be washed out with good vibes. You can see Tengboche Monastery on your way which is the largest monastery in this area. People mostly visit on their way to Base Camp. Then continuing your trek for some time takes you to Dingboche.

Day 12:
Acclimatization in Dingboche(4410m)

After a savoury breakfast, around 8:30 in the morning you will start your trek to Chukhung(5550m). You can view the amazing mountains mainly Ama Dablam. The wind over here is really fresh and strong too. Chukhung is really famous for Island Peak climbing which is a great way to explore the best and most stunning views of the mountain range. And finally, you will head back to Dingboche.

Day 13:
Dingboche(4410m) to Lobuche(4940m)

In the morning, your trek will begin after your breakfast. Today your trek will be more challenging due to the higher altitude. Through the trail, you will reach Thugla(4600m). After walking for some time you will get closer to high mountains like Mt.Nuptse and Mt. Pumori.You can see the beautiful views of Mt.Lobuche too. There would be freezing cold so you need to carry warm clothes because we will be approx. 5000m above sea level. It will be quite pleasant as it is 4-5 hours long. When you come out of the valley, you will descend to Lobuche yak pastures.

Day 14:
Lobuche(4940m) to Everest base camp(4830m) and back to Gorak Shep(3164m)

In the first part of the day, You will climb till you reach up to Gorak Shep from Lobuche. After you stroll for 60 minutes, the way gets troublesome however you will be amazed by extremely pleasant views on a wide range of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse and different mountains. You will take lunch at Gorakshep. After having lunch, you will go to your last destination for Everest Base Camp. On your path, you will also get to see Khumbu Glacier(4900m). After hiking for around one hour you will cross the glacier and enter the Everest Base Camp area(5364m). After reaching there you can see the renowned Khumbu glacier and Icefall. After roaming, you can enjoy the sunset there and you come back to Gorak Shep due to the low temperature and high altitude at Everest Base Camp.

Day 15:
Gorak Shep(3164m) to Pheriche(4910m)

Today early in the morning you will hike to Kala Patthar(5550M). From there you can see the impressive view of sunrise. From here you will continue your today’s trek and reach the place where the first cabinet meeting regarding the issues of global warming was held in 2009. From here you can have a chance to see splendid views of Mt. Everest(8848m), Mt. Lhotse(), Mt. Nuptse(), Mt. Ama Dablam(), Mt. Thamserku(), Mt. Kusum Kangaru(), Mt. Khumbutse(6639m) and many more. Once you reach Kala Patthar you can feel that you are touching Mt. Pumori. Then you will come to Gorak Shep for breakfast and after completing you will continue your trek to Pheriche.

Day 16:
Pheriche(4371m) to Namche Bazaar(3460m)

After breakfast in Pheriche, you will ascend one hour to reach Tengboche from Debuche. Then you will descend to Phunkithanga(3200m) and ascend to Kyangjuma and then to Namche Bazaar which is quite easy and can also be the last chance to view mountains closely. You come back to Namche after a healthy trek of 5-6 hours.

Day 17:
Namche Bazaar(3460m) to Lukla(2850m)

After breakfast, you will trek towards the Hillary suspension bridge and then pass through many villages.The way to Lukla is downhill to the flat part.You will pass the Sagarmatha National Park and reach Lukla in the evening. You will also visit one of the popular monasteries along with different panoramic views. You will lose an altitude of around 600 metres that day. It will be the last day of your Everest trek.

Day 18:
Flight from Lukla(2850m) to Kathmandu(1400m)

Next morning you will book a departure flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. During the flight, you will appreciate the lovely landscape until you arrive at Kathmandu from where you will head to your inn and get some rest.
