Antu Danda is also renowned for its breathtaking sunset views, with the Eastern Himalayan massif serving as the perfect backdrop.

The Antu Danda viewpoint offers panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas to the north, the Terai landscape to the south, and the tea-growing regions of Darjeeling to the east. On clear days, Mt. Everest can also be seen. Ilam is a diverse area, home to various ethnic groups such as Limbu, Rai, Lepcha, Magar, Tamang, and others. Visitors can also opt to stay with a Lepcha community through homestay and learn more about their unique culture and traditions.

Antu Danda offers well-facilitated hotels and cottages for accommodation. The development of these facilities is a result of the increasing flow of tourists visiting Ilam and hiking up to the Shree Antu hill.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrived in Kathmandu

When you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative from Himalayan 360 will be there to meet you and take you to your hotel. After checking in, you can rest or, with the guide, visit Himalayan 360’s office in Thamel a part of Kathmandu in the tourist district. Here there are many shops and restaurants. The shops are colourful and full of pashminas, slippers, trekking equipment, and felt items. The restaurants serve European as well as Nepalese meals. ATMs are plentiful should you require them. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan 360 where you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine. This is a great introduction to Nepalese food.

Day 2:
Kathmandu (1400m) to Ilam Bazaar (1206m)

Take a domestic flight to Bhadrapur, or we can drive directly to Ilam from Kathmandu. It would be our pleasure to observe stunning green tea gardens on the way. We would take a tea break and snacks at Fikkal. In the evening, we would go around Ilam Bazaar.

Day 3:
Drive from Ilam Bazaar to Maipokhari and back to Ilam Bazaar

We take our early drive to Maipokhari from Ilam Bazaar. It is a distance of one and half hours normal drive. We observe the Maipokhari area for 2-3 hours. We would taste fresh homemade tea at Maipokhari. Besides, we will also visit the tea factory on the way to Ilam Bazaar. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 4:
Drive from Ilam Bazaar to Shree Antu Danda.

We go early in the morning to view the stunning sunrise from Antu Dada. We will also pay our visit to the Lepcha museum at Antu Dada. Besides, we would interact with the local people to have in-depth knowledge of the local culture and tradition.

Day 5:
Drive from Shree Antu Danda to Bhadrapur and Fly back to Kathmandu or Drive from Shree Antu – Kathmandu.

After having breakfast at Shree Antu, we drive down to Bhadrapur if we are flying to Kathmandu. If we are driving to Kathmandu, we take early bus from Shree Antu to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will go to hotel.

Day 6:
Final Departure

Today is the last day of our Trip, it is the time to say goodbye and return to the real world. If you have some time left, you can do some souvenir shopping or sightseeing around the hotel. A representative from Himalayan 360 will collect you from the hotel and take you to the airport 3 hours before your departure.
