Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrived in Kathmandu

When you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Himalayan 360 will be there to greet you and take you to your hotel. After checking in, you can either rest or, with the guide, visit Himalayan 360’s office located in Thamel, a bustling tourist destination in Kathmandu. Thamel offers many shops and restaurants, where you can find colorful pashminas, slippers, trekking equipment, and felt items. The restaurants in Thamel serve European, Chinese and Nepalese meals. There are also many ATMs available in case you need them. In the evening, Himalayan 360 will host a welcome dinner for you, where you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine, giving you a great introduction to Nepalese food.

Day 2:
Drive from Kathmandu (1400m) to Zhangmu/Nyalam (3600m)-153km:

We will depart at 06:00 hours from Thamel. It will take approximately 05 hours to drive to Kodari, which is the China/Nepal border. After a short drive of half an hour, we will reach Zhangmu. Here, we will complete the immigration formalities and then continue our drive to Nyalam, following the Bhotekoshi River through a deep valley with some beautiful waterfalls. We will spend the night at a guesthouse in Nyalam.

Day 3:
Drive from Nyalam (3600m) to Tingri/Lhatse (4050m)-285km:

We will drive through the Nyalam Pass (3800m) with views of the Jugal Himal and continue driving via the Lalungla Pass (5050m). Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see some of the most spectacular views of Mt. Sisapangma (8013m), the highest peak in Tibet, Mt. Makalu (8464m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Cho-Oyu (8201m) and Mt. Everest (8848m). We will spend the night at a guesthouse, resting overnight.

Day 4:
Drive from Lhatse(4050m) to Xigatse (3900m)-90kms:

Today we will drive to Xigatse, home to the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery and the seat of the Panchen Lama. We will spend the night at a hotel, such as Samdrupse or similar standard.

Day 5:
Drive from Xigatse(3900m) to Gyantse (3950m)-90km:

Today, we will visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery and the ancient market of Xigatse in the morning. In the afternoon, we will continue to Gyantse, a small bustling town rich in history, located 264km southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyang chu river. We will also visit the Kumbum Chorten, which was built around 1400 AD. We will spend the night at a guesthouse.

Day 6:
Drive from Gyantse (3950m) to Lhasa (3650m)-261kms:

Today, we will embark on an 8-hour drive to Lhasa, crossing the Karo La Pass and climbing between two majestic mountains, Nozing Khang Sa (7223m) and Ralung (6236m). After passing Kamb La, the Lhasa valley will come into view to the north. We will also cross the Brahmaputra River.

Day 7:
Day in Lhasa (Sightseeing)

Today, you will have the opportunity to go on sightseeing and excursion tours of some of Lhasa’s most famous landmarks including the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, the surrounding Barkhor market, Drepung Monastery, and Sera Monastery.
Overnight at guest house.

Day 8:
Fly from Lhasa (3650m) to Kathmandu (1400m)

Today, we will have an early breakfast and then take you to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 9:
Final Departure

Today is the last day of our trip. It’s time to say goodbye and return to the real world. If you have some time before your departure, you can do some souvenir shopping or sightseeing around the hotel. A representative from Himalayan 360 will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport 3 hours before your flight.
