However, one interesting story related to Muktinath is that according to Swasthani Brata, after the death of Sati (the first wife of Lord Shiva), Lord Shiva carried her body and wandered places. The places where her body parts fell are famously known as the Shakti Peetha. Muktinath is one of them. There is a belief that Sati’s mouth (Mukh) was fallen here in Muktinath and hence it was honored with the name “Muktinath.”

Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, one of our representative from Himalayan 360 will be there to receive and escort you to the hotel. On the way, you will be getting a short briefing about the trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2:
Kathmandu Valley sightseeing

On this day, we will be visiting the main touristic areas of Kathmandu valley. We will be heading towards Pashupatinath Temple early in the morning for the worship. After having breakfast, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa; one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. After that, our next destination will Budhanilakantha which is also known as Jal Narayan temple. And our last destination for the day will be Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. It is one of the oldest and most sacred Buddhist sites of Nepal. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3:
Kathmandu to Pokhara

After having breakfast at hotel, we will be driving towards Pokhara en route Manakamana. Manakamana is another famous temple located in Gorkha district of Nepal. We have to take a cable car ride to reach to the temple. It is believed that all your wishes come true in Manakamana. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 4:
Drive to Jomsom (Muktinath Darshan)

After an early breakfast in hotel, we will start drive to Jomsom. After our arrival in Jomsom, we will transfer to our hotel and then proceed for Muktinath Temple darshan by Jeep. After almost 2 hours of drive through mesmerizing landscapes, we will reach Muktinath temple From Jomsom. There you will visit the temple and worship the deities. It is believed that you get the Moksha (Salvation) after visiting the Muktinath temple. You can wash away your sins in the 108 water spouts and visit Mukti Kunda. Also, visit Jwala Mai temple and Mhame Lha Khang Gompa. After that, you will return to Jomsom following the same route. Stay overnight at a teahouse in Jomsom.

Day 5:
Drive back to Pokhara

On this day, we will drive back to Pokhara from Jomsom. You will then check-in into the hotel and rest for a while. Then we will spend the rest of the day doing sightseeing in Pokhara. We will visit Bindabasini temple dedicated to goddess Durga. It is one of the oldest and most significant temples in the region. It is situated in a hilltop and offers panoramic views of the city. Evening we will visit Barahi Temple with Arati then back to hotel and rest.

Day 6:
Pokhara to Kathmandu

After the breakfast, we move towards Gupteshwor Mahadev cave which is a popular tourist attraction known for its natural beauty and cultural significance. The cave is situated near the Davi’s Falls and provides mystical underground experience. After that for the last destination of the day, we move towards David fall.
Then, we drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. It will take us around 7-8 hours to reach Kathmandu. If you have time, you can explore the colorful streets of Thamel and do some souvenir shopping. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7:
Departure

It is the last day of our Muktinath Pilgrimage tour. After having breakfast, one of our representative from Himalayan 360 will drop you to the airport 3 hours prior your flight. It was nice doing this tour with you. Make sure to remember us in your next travel to Nepal.
